The Hurt Locker

I do enjoy films set around or involving war but i have to say they are not my favourite and i have never yet seen one to have bettered Black Hawk Down. The Hurt Locker, however, i must say is a truly impeccable film. I reckon the best thing about it is that it doesn't try to be a moody, action packed war epic nor a poncy, arty-farty flick it sits there in the middle as a happy medium. The story is gripping and the characters, all of whom are played brilliently, are thoroughly believable. As i have said, what impressed me most about the film was that it wasnt trying too hard to be good, it just takes its course and tells its story to astonishing results. I believe this is truly a benchmark in filmmaking and more directors should give this approach a try.
This is definately one to buy!
